This is NOT a default or required it is an option to extend your care with multiple providers of care

A consultation is required for every new patient beginning care at Zap Master Electrology & Laser Hair Removal, regardless of whether you are paying privately, using insurance, or planning to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. This appointment allows us to establish a clinical baseline, review your medical history, evaluate your hair growth, discuss your goals, determine the most appropriate treatment plan, and answer any questions before treatment begins.
Even if you have previously received electrolysis or laser hair removal elsewhere, we require a consultation to establish your care with our practice.
Most consultations may be completed virtually when appropriate and are scheduled on weekdays so our extended treatment appointments remain available for patients on weekends.
Patients choosing to self-pay begin with a 30–45 minute consultation.
The consultation fee is $55 and includes a discounted 15-minute treatment at the end of your appointment whenever clinically appropriate. This gives you the opportunity to experience treatment, discuss aftercare, and begin developing your long-term treatment plan.
Because professional appointment availability is limited, patients who do not attend or provide notice for their initial consultation may be moved to the professional provider waitlist. Those patients are welcome to begin care sooner through our supervised Zapling Student Clinic if they wish.
If your insurance plan allows you to submit your own claims for reimbursement, you will follow the Self-Pay pathway.
This means:
Patients choosing this option may begin treatment immediately following their consultation.
Patients seeking insurance-covered treatment follow a slightly different process, but the consultation remains a required step before treatment begins.
To utilize insurance benefits, patients must first establish care with our partnering medical practice, Schine Health. Their medical team provides the referral and documentation necessary for us to coordinate medically necessary hair removal services and submit claims appropriately.
If you are already a patient with Schine Health, your referral will be sent directly to our office. Once received, a member of our team will contact you—typically within 72 business hours—to schedule your required consultation.
If you are not currently established with Schine Health, please contact their office at 360-726-3754 to begin the referral process. Once your referral has been submitted, we will guide you through the remaining steps, including consultation scheduling, treatment planning, prior authorization (when required), and the start of your care.
Every patient deserves a treatment plan designed specifically for them. Your consultation allows us to establish a medical baseline, review previous hair removal methods, determine whether laser hair removal, electrolysis, or a combination approach is most appropriate, discuss expected timelines and costs, and ensure you understand every step of your treatment journey before your first full appointment.
Whether you are paying privately or utilizing insurance benefits, your consultation is the foundation for safe, effective, and personalized permanent hair removal.

Hair removal is often an important step in a person's gender-affirming journey. Every transition is unique, and treatment plans should reflect each patient's goals, anatomy, timeline, and surgical plans.
Our team has extensive experience providing electrolysis and laser hair removal for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse patients.
Services may include:
Many gender-affirming surgeries require permanent hair removal before surgery. We work closely with patients and surgical teams to help ensure hair removal is completed according to surgeon requirements.
Treatment planning considers:
Beginning treatment early often produces the best surgical outcomes.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is now increasingly referred to as PMOS (Metabolic Ovary Syndrome) to better reflect the condition's broader metabolic impact beyond the ovaries.
Many patients experience excessive facial or body hair due to hormonal influences. While medications may slow future growth, they cannot permanently eliminate hair that already exists.
Permanent hair removal allows patients to regain confidence while reducing the daily burden of shaving, waxing, plucking, or concealing unwanted hair.
Treatment plans may include:
Many patients achieve the best outcomes by combining laser hair reduction with electrolysis for permanent removal of remaining hairs.
As longtime advocates within the PMOS/PCOS community, we understand that unwanted hair affects much more than appearance—it can impact confidence, relationships, careers, and mental well-being.
You deserve compassionate care without judgment.
Not all excessive hair growth has the same cause.
Hirsutism
Hirsutism refers to male-pattern hair growth in women and is commonly associated with hormonal conditions such as PMOS.
Hypertrichosis
Hypertrichosis is excessive hair growth that may occur anywhere on the body regardless of hormone levels. It may result from genetics, medications, medical conditions, or other underlying causes.
At Zap Master Electrology, we believe the best treatment plan is the one that is tailored to your individual hair type, skin tone, medical history, and long-term goals. For many patients, this means combining laser hair removal with electrolysis to achieve the most efficient and permanent results.
Our clinic utilizes the Silhouet-Tone Spirit Laser, an advanced medical-grade platform featuring three clinically proven wavelengths—755 nm Alexandrite, 810 nm Diode, and 1064 nm Nd—within a single treatment handpiece. This triple-wavelength technology allows us to safely and effectively treat all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI) while targeting a wide range of hair colors, diameters, and growth depths. The Spirit Laser offers both traditional pulse-by-pulse treatments for precision and an advanced in-motion sweeping mode for rapid treatment of larger areas. Combined with continuous dual cooling technology, treatments are designed to maximize comfort while delivering consistent energy to the hair follicle.
Laser hair removal works by selectively targeting the pigment (melanin) within actively growing hair follicles. Because of this, it is most effective on dark, pigmented hair and can significantly reduce hair density over large treatment areas in a relatively short period of time. While laser provides excellent long-term reduction, it cannot permanently destroy hairs that lack sufficient pigment, such as blond, red, gray, or white hairs.
Electrolysis remains the only method capable of permanently treating every hair color and every skin type. By treating each individual follicle, electrolysis permanently destroys the hair's growth center regardless of pigment.
This precision makes electrolysis essential for removing the lighter hairs that laser cannot effectively treat and is the standard of care for many medically necessary procedures, including genital hair removal before gender-affirming surgery, where every remaining follicle must be permanently treated.
For many patients, the most effective approach is a combination treatment plan. Laser is used first to rapidly reduce the bulk of dark, coarse hair, making treatment faster and more economical. Electrolysis then follows to permanently eliminate any remaining hairs—including lighter, finer, or treatment-resistant follicles—resulting in the most complete and lasting outcome. By combining both technologies, we can often reduce the total number of treatment hours while providing the comprehensive permanent hair removal many patients require.
Electrolysis is the only FDA-recognized method of permanent hair removal, making it the gold standard for treating every hair color, every skin type, and every medically necessary hair removal indication. At Zap Master Electrology, we recognize that no two patients—or even two hairs—are exactly alike. Rather than relying on a single treatment method, we customize every treatment plan using multiple electrolysis technologies and modalities to achieve the safest, most effective, and most comfortable outcome possible.
Our providers are trained in all three electrolysis modalities—galvanic, thermolysis, and blend—allowing us to tailor treatment based on hair diameter, follicle depth, skin characteristics, treatment area, and each patient's medical history and comfort level. Because different hairs respond differently, this individualized approach allows us to adjust treatment as your hair changes throughout the permanent hair removal process.
This level of customization allows us to optimize both treatment efficiency and patient comfort while adapting to each individual's response throughout their treatment journey.
For particularly tenacious hair growth, coarse follicles, distorted follicles, or treatment-resistant cases, we also offer multi-probe galvanic electrolysis. Unlike traditional single-probe treatments, multi-probe galvanic allows several follicles to be treated simultaneously using a controlled chemical reaction within the follicle, making it an excellent option for deeply rooted hairs, hormonally influenced growth, and patients requiring comprehensive permanent clearance over larger areas.
By combining advanced technology with decades of clinical experience, we are able to develop highly individualized treatment regimens that prioritize both long-term outcomes and patient comfort. Whether your treatment is related to gender-affirming care, PMOS (formerly PCOS), hirsutism, hypertrichosis, surgical preparation, or another medically necessary condition, our ability to customize care across multiple modalities and technologies allows us to select the right treatment for the right hair at the right time.
Our medical hair removal services include insurance-covered electrolysis and laser hair removal when eligible, gender-affirming hair removal, PMOS (formerly PCOS)-related facial and body hair treatment, hirsutism and hypertrichosis care, surgical preparation electrolysis, combination laser and electrolysis treatment planning, medical documentation and photography, prior authorization assistance, and long-term treatment planning designed to support lasting results.Unlike traditional cosmetic clinics, our focus extends beyond removing unwanted hair. We help patients navigate insurance, coordinate care with medical providers, develop long-term treatment plans, and provide compassionate support throughout their journey.
Whether you are beginning treatment, preparing for surgery, or simply looking for answers, our goal is to provide a clear path forward.
